Anterior Cruciate Ligament - ACL online recovery room
"MUCH OF WHAT HAPPENS IN LIFE MIGHT BE BEYOND OUR CONTROL, BUT OUR REACTION TO IT DETERMINES HOW IT IMPACTS UPON US" JOE SCHMIDT
Damien Mc Mahon, a chartered physiotherapist by profession. Having worked with many people during their Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) rehabilitation, I noticed many reporting no link between surgery and the next step finding a chartered physiotherapist to guide their rehabilitation.
This is why I decided to create a dedicated website for people with ACL injuries to begin their immediate rehabilitation. Aclrecoveryroom will guarantee you receive an evidence based ACL rehabilitation.
If your goal is to return to the highest level of your sport or to dance at your son or daughters wedding, your programmes will be tailored to your individual goals you want to achieve.
I welcome everyone with an ACL injury to use aclrecoveryroom to begin your rehab journey. WHY WAIT. Start TODAY.
Why Immediate ACL Rehabilitation
"A preoperative extension deficit (lack of straightening your knee) is a major risk factor for an extension deficit after anterior cruciate ligament repair (ACLR)" (Van Melick et al 2016)
"A preoperative progressive strengthening programme had greater functional outcomes and return to sport 2 years after ACLR" (Failla et al 2016)
"A preoperative decrease in quadriceps strength has negative consequences 2 years after surgery" (Van Melick et al 2016)
So what does this mean? If you have an ACL injury you need to do 5 weeks of strength exercises prior to surgery to increase chances of successful knee function and RTP. If you are stronger before surgery you will have better outcomes after.
"I fell it made me a better athlete and made my knee stronger and more secure " Conor
"The programme was specific to my needs and helped me return to the highest level of play" Cathal
